How do you feel about elitism in cycling today?

I mean, I've seen it happening a lot.

You're not a cyclist unless you buy this specific brand or this expensive bike. You're not a real rider unless you wear this specific brand of kit or pay this price. Some riders will laugh at you if you have gear and accessories that they've never heard of.

Cycling should always be an activity for everyone, not some elitist sport.

What do you all think about this issue?

I think that this is not a problem I would ever worry about because I don't listen to such clique is what I call them. I don't need to have all the gears in the world to consider myself a cyclist. As long as anyone can afford the gear, a bike and all the accessories needed to successfully ride their bike, they are cyclist.

I think there is elitism in some groups.

But for the most part, cyclists are pretty accepting of everyone, whether you're really good at it or bad at it. Cycling is one of those things you'll get better and better at as long as you stay motivated to try harder and do new things.
