Yes, I'm absolutely in support of having phones banned at the dinner table. A lot of people no longer pay attention to things that are important because of the way they are addicted to using their phones at all times. It's why most people struggle with interpersonal communication today.

And it seems to be the case all over the world, too.

Absolutely! I'm quite guilty of it sometimes but once I get myself, I'll drop the phone immediately and make sure to turn off my internet connection because that's what's causing all the distraction.

Oh, me as well.

I'm guilty of just eating dinner at my computer desk instead of with my wife. But she'll be on her phone, as well.

You're lucky she doesn't have any problems with it and I guess it's because she's comfortable being on her phone too.

My mother would scream your head off if you dare bring your phone to the dinning table when eating dinner.

That's probably a good thing! We shouldn't have our phones available for every moment. My wife wakes up and looks at hers when we're sleeping. I'm sure it's not good on her eyes but she wakes up and can't go back to sleep sometimes and gets bored.

I used to do that too and it had exactly the same effects on me. I think there's a way our brains functions in connection with smartphones, once you pick it up, the mind can't disconnect from it for a while. It's why I couldn't sleep.

What I do now is put my phone in Flight mode when I'm about to sleep. When I get wake up to probably pee, I already know there's nothing to look for in the phone because there's no network in it. This way, I'm not tempted to touch it and go straight to sleep.

I can't put mine in airplane mode because I'm on call 24/7 for my job. If I bet called at night, then something is wrong, and I usually have to race to work.

I'll know how much I'm being paid for me to respond to calls 24/7 even when I'm supposed to be sleeping at night and if there's any emergency, I'll have to show up at work that very minute. I doubt even if Trump's security details works that way.

Trump's Secret Service detail has shifts, I'm sure. But I would imagine the main guy is likely on call and does respond whenever he is summoned.

Mehn, some jobs just takes too much toll on those doing it and the only compensation is being paid well. In the end, it catches up with the person's health.
